How does TruckerProfits calculate fuel cost?
We use the current national average diesel price (updated weekly from OPIS data) and your truck's MPG from your profile. Fuel cost = (miles ÷ MPG) × price per gallon. You can update your MPG anytime in the My Truck tab.
How are miles calculated?
We use a lookup table of distances between major US city pairs, with a haversine fallback for cities not in the table. For very precise mileage, enter the actual dispatched miles manually — we're adding a "custom miles" field in V2.
What does the margin target slider do?
It sets your personal profit margin goal (default 22%). The app uses this to decide whether a load is "Take It" (above your target), "Borderline" (within 7% below your target), or "Pass" (below the minimum threshold). Adjust it in your profile or in the P&L screen.
Is my data saved if I close the app?
Yes. In V1, your load history, truck profile, and settings are saved locally on your device using browser storage. They persist across sessions. In V2, we're adding cloud sync so your data follows you across devices.
How do I add more trucks to my fleet?
Go to the My Truck tab and tap "+ Add". Each truck has its own MPG, maintenance cost, and fixed monthly costs. Switch between trucks using the tabs at the top of the My Truck screen.
What does the broker fee (18%) represent?
The standard broker commission on a load is typically 15–25% of the gross rate. We default to 18%, which is a conservative middle estimate. You can't change this per-load yet — that's coming in V2 along with a broker rating system.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime from your account settings. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. No questions asked, no cancellation fees.
My sign-in isn't working. What do I do?
Try signing in at truckerprofits.com from a browser first. If you're getting a CAPTCHA error, clear your browser cookies and try again. If the issue persists, email us at support@truckerprofits.com with your email address and we'll fix it within 24 hours.
Can I use TruckerProfits without creating an account?
Yes — tap "Try free" on the homepage and you can score loads immediately without signing up. Your history is saved locally. Creating an account unlocks cloud sync and the full subscription features.
What's coming in V2?
V2 unlocks at 50 paying users and includes: DAT load board integration (live loads), per-load broker fee override, custom mileage input, cloud sync across devices, CSV/PDF export of your P&L, and push notifications for load alerts.
